Community guidelines
A short guide to keeping the IFS Wire community useful and safe.
Be respectful
Everyone was new to IFS once. Be patient and constructive, and criticise ideas, not people. Harassment, discrimination and personal attacks are removed.
Search before asking
Search the questions first. Searches cover titles, descriptions, answers and error messages. If you find a related question, link it and explain what's different.
Include the details
- Your IFS product and version (for example IFS Cloud 24R2, or IFS Applications 10 with its update level).
- The exact error text, copied rather than paraphrased.
- Steps to reproduce, what you expected and what actually happened.
Never post secrets or customer data
Never post passwords, API keys, tokens, connection strings, private keys or confidential customer information. Replace server names, customer names and credentials with placeholders, and check screenshots before uploading.
Posts that look like they contain secrets (for example password=, api_key, bearer tokens, AWS access keys, private key blocks or long random keys) are blocked automatically.
No spam or self-promotion
Answer the question that was asked. Linking your own product or service is only acceptable when it directly answers the question and you say that it's yours. Advertising, link-dropping and recruitment posts are removed.
Credit sources
If an answer draws on documentation, a blog post or someone else's work, link it and give credit.
Accepted answers
The person who asked can mark one answer as accepted when it solved their problem. Accepted answers are shown first. The asker can change or remove the acceptance later.
Votes and reputation
Upvote questions and answers that are useful. You can't vote on your own posts, and you can remove your vote at any time.
| Event | Points |
|---|---|
| Your answer receives an upvote | +10 |
| Your question receives an upvote | +5 |
| Your answer is accepted | +15 |
| You accept someone else's answer | +2 |
| Posting a question, answer or comment | 0 |
Points are reversed if a vote is removed or an acceptance is undone. Accepting your own answer earns no points.
